Department of Biosystems and Convergence Engineering
Introduction
The Department of Biosystems and Convergence Engineering aims to educate students to contribute to both the human progress and the well-being of human populations and natural ecosystems by using bio resources. It also fosters human resources to develop theories and convergence technologies for the management of biomaterials, bioenergy and sustainable environmental systems by converging advanced science and technology such as biotechnology (BT), environmental technology (ET), information technology (IT), and nanotechnology (NT). Among the main areas of bio-convergence engineering are as follows: first, biofuel production technologies and biomaterial technologies that develop pharmaceuticals, textiles and eco-friendly materials; second, environmental science and technology development to cope with climate change such as waste resource bioenergy technology and sustainable environmental system technology.
